I live in New York City and Asheville, NC and began knitting 10 years ago when I bought a Groupon for knitting lessons. I found it so calming that I hadn't realized how frazzled and needlessly complicated my life had become.  Knitting hats is my happy time.

I am also fascinated with Color and Color Theory.  I received a Color Specialist Certificate for Art, Design and Fashion-Related Products from FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in 2020.  I focused on:

• Identifying color psychology in today’s multi-cultural market

• Creating color palettes, combinations, and stories for people using color

• Using color as a mood and appearance enhancer

Combine my love of knitting and my love of color and KnitSanity NYC was born in 2022.

Before I added the benefits of knitting to my life, I worked in corporate America in finance for far too long.  Then I became a writer and currently run a writing retreat, Kimbilio, for fiction writers of the African diaspora every summer in Taos, NM.

I have a husband who still wears the first item I ever knit for him, a teenage daughter who complains about the size of my yarn stash and a terrier who survived a bear attack.
